By Jeep via the savanna and the black Sea of Sand to see the sunrise over mount Bromo

You will be picked up at your hotel in Malang at midnight. The Jeep will drive directly to Mt. Pananjakan. As it is still dark you won't yet be able to enjoy the spectacular landscape that you are crossing. At Pananjakan, you will be served tea or coffee and a local snack if you wish. When the sun is about to rise, you can choose your spot at the viewpoint Pananjakan. Weather conditions and the actvity of the volcano will determine how colorful your morning will be.
After the sunrise, you will meet with your driver. He will descend to the Sea of Sand. Then, breakfast picnic style will be served. After breakfast you will continue to the parking area near the Hindu Luhur Poten temple. It will be a 45 minutes walk to the crater rim of Bromo volcano. Take your time, let the surroundings enter your imagination.
Once back at the Jeep, your drive back to Malang is awaiting you. On route you can experience Pelangi waterfall and Jago temple.

Disovery ideas: Tumpang has a second temple, named Kidal. Another interesting spot is Museum Panji, also in Tumpang (don't visit on Sundays, crowded with national tourists).
